Nexthink
Point of Engagement: PE Backed
Investors: Permira & Vista Equity Partners
Outcome
VP EMEA - Mandated to scale the EMEA region from $100m towards £500m+ revenue

Background
Iperium was initially introduced to the C-suite at Nexthink via a recommendation from Permira’s Technology Partner.
During the course of the search, Permira exited and Vista Equity Partners made a majority investment, valuing Nexthink at approximately $3bn.
The transition in ownership significantly increased the strategic importance of the hire. With a new growth-focused investor entering the business, the VP EMEA would become a central lever in accelerating value creation and delivering future exit outcomes.
EMEA represented Nexthink’s largest global revenue region making this appointment mission-critical.
Nexthink is a global leader in digital employee experience software, and they required a VP EMEA who could:
- Demonstrate a track record of scaling a European technology business from $100m revenue
- Evidence the capability to at least 3x regional revenue
- Operate within a globally cultured SaaS organisation
- Report effectively into US leadership
- Balance operational rigour with international commercial nuance
The brief demanded more than functional excellence. It required someone who had lived through multi-hundred-million-dollar scale journeys inside the enterprise IT landscape, and succeeded.
At the final stage of the process, given the strategic weight of the role, Yancey Spruill, Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners, was introduced directly into the interview process.
The bar moved higher. The scrutiny intensified. The mandate became sharper.
1. Investor Level Alignment from Day One
Introduced via Permira, we operated with clarity on value creation metrics and exit expectations, not just functional hiring requirements.
2. Pattern Led Talent Mapping
We did not search for a generic regional leader.
We identified executives who had demonstrably scaled enterprise IT organisations through the $100m revenue threshold and beyond, isolating repeatable growth patterns.
3. International SaaS Calibration
The mandate required someone who could report into the US while leading across diverse European markets. Cultural fluency and operational maturity were weighted equally to revenue performance.
4. Managing Live Ownership Transition
With Permira exiting and Vista investing mid-process, stakeholder management became critical. We navigated evolving investor drivers without losing pace or momentum.
5. Precision Under Heightened Scrutiny
When Vista’s Managing Director entered the process at the final hour, the shortlist held and the candidate profile stood up to investor-level interrogation.
Iperium delivered a VP EMEA with a proven history of scaling enterprise technology organisations across Europe capable of operating at PE cadence.

This validation carried particular weight.
The mandate began with Permira’s Technology Partner and concluded with Vista’s Managing Director – different investors, different ownership cycles, same focus on value creation.
One brief.
Two investors.
Zero compromise.
A mission-critical revenue leader positioned to take EMEA from $100m to $500m+ and underpin the next successful exit.
