Background

Fexa is an AI-native facilities management software provider backed by Mainsail Partners, following $40m investment.

Built for complex, multi-site operators across retail, grocery and restaurants, Fexa is evolving traditional CMMS through automation and agentic AI, helping facilities teams reduce costs, improve asset performance and make faster operational decisions.

As Fexa accelerated towards its next phase of growth, the priority was building a GTM organisation capable of translating its product advantage into enterprise revenue.

With an ambitious growth plan and defined exit horizon, Fexa didn’t simply need more salespeople.

They needed proven CMMS overachievers who could make an immediate impact.

The brief was highly specific:

Identify enterprise sales professionals with a proven track record of selling CMMS and facilities management technology, consistently exceeding quota and winning complex enterprise customers.

There was little appetite for candidates who could learn the market.

Fexa needed people who already knew it.

At the recommendation of Mainsail-appointed CRO Bart van Praag, Iperium was engaged to top-grade Fexa’s US GTM organisation.

Using talent.ai, we mapped the CMMS and facilities management technology ecosystem, identifying the direct competitors and adjacent vendors most likely to contain the talent Fexa needed.

But identifying companies wasn’t enough.

We used that intelligence to go deeper, targeting President’s Club attendees, consistent quota overachievers and the highest-performing enterprise sellers within the competitive landscape.

Instead of beginning with a broad search and gradually narrowing the market, talent.ai allowed us to start with a highly specific universe of proven performers and launch an aggressive, targeted engagement campaign immediately.

Less noise. Better data. Faster access to the people who mattered.

The strategy delivered exactly the profile Fexa was looking for.

Among the appointments was Spencer Pope, the #1 performing Account Executive from within Fexa’s competitive landscape.

With almost a decade of experience in the facilities technology market, Spencer brought an established understanding of the buyer, the competitive landscape and the commercial challenges facing large multi-site operators.

More importantly, he could hit the ground running.

Since joining Fexa, Spencer has become an exceptional addition to the GTM team and is already exceeding his revenue targets.

The success of the GTM programme has subsequently expanded Iperium’s relationship with Fexa, with talent.ai now being used to map and engage specialist Product and Engineering talent as the company continues to build its AI-native platform.

Why it worked

Fexa didn’t need access to more candidates.

They needed access to the right candidates faster.

Our experience within enterprise technology combined with talent.ai allowed us to map an extremely specific talent ecosystem and identify the individuals with evidence of performance, not simply the right companies or job titles on their CV.

That distinction matters.

When an investor-backed company is operating against an aggressive growth and exit timeline, every hire needs to contribute to the exit goal.

talent.ai helped us cut through an entire market to find the proven performers who could.

And when it worked for GTM, Fexa asked us to do it again for Product and Engineering.

That’s the power of knowing where the talent is before the search starts.
